“Easily in my top three must-reads for leaders! In Churchwork Rodney Shaw says out loud what many of us have been feeling for a while now: church leadership is fundamentally different than all other kinds of leadership. This book offers us a way out of the old leadership paradigms by reclaiming the dignity and power of followership and by giving us a very practical way forward. READ THIS BOOK!”

One Book in Three Parts
Leadership
Leaders exist because followers are important. Leadership matters because followers matter. Followers do not exist because leaders need help fulling their vision. Leaders exist because followers need guidance as they fulfill their God-ordained destiny. This is a fundamentally different starting point than vision-centric leadership.
Followership
Good followership is honed through intention and practice. Just as leaders study to become better leaders, so followers must work to become better followers. Good followership is the responsibility of the follower. Followers must take initiative for their own success. Good followers are responsible for their own attitudes, spirituality, and overall sense of direction.
Working Together
Knowing both how to lead and follow on a team is vital. Sharing communal resources, including vision, requires the cooperation of everyone. Knowing how to work through conflict, how to communicate, and how optimize group performance is the key to organizational progress.
